Ancient Arts worked with a mill in South Africa to salvage fibre used to prime the mill machines and blend it to create this fantastic multi-purpose 4 ply yarn. It is a blend of 49% wool, 34% mohair, 11% nylon, 4% acrylic & 2% silk and hand dyed in Canada. With a generous 437 yards per 100g skein it is perfect for lace work and of course socks!

Today we were organizing our new shipment of Lett-Lopi or Lopi Lite, a worsted weight version of the well known Icelandic wool. This wool is unique in its composition as it consists of two types of fibers: inner fibers which are fine, soft and highly insulating and outer fibers which are long, glossy and water repellent. Together these fibers create a wool that is lightweight, water-repellent and breathable.
