The turkey isn’t the only thing stuffed these days – the shelves at the store are packed to the brim with tasty treats of another kind! Here is what we have recently put out:
-Rowan Lima – this new yarn by Rowan is 84% alpaca, 8% merino & 8% nylon. The strands are chained together and it is so soft! The supporting pattern book “The Lima Collection” will have you drooling.
-Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool in new fall colours and her Book 18 is a new collection of Viking inspired knits with beautiful cables and textures.
-Malabrigo Silky Wool in colours such as Raspberry, Smoke, Green Grey, Rupestre & Natural. Luscious for a Clapotis or Ysolda Teague’s Coraline.
-Chunky Yarns are still very popular this year. A few new yarns this season are Queensland Kathmandu Chunky, Rowan Felted Tweed Chunky and Berroco Cuzco. Cascade Magnum is a Super Chunky yarn – one skein will make a 7 foot long cabled scarf, like the one on display in the store (and we have a free pattern written up for those who purchase the yarn)
-Other new arrivals include Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Cascade Ecowool, new colours of Cascade 220, Rowan Felted Tweed Aran and Ella Rae Lace Merino.
-Of course there are lots of new pattern booklets and books. If you knit for the men in your life, then check out “Men’s Knits” by Erika Knight. It contains 20 patterns for men young and old and is the best collection of men’s patterns I have seen for some time.
This Thanksgiving I give thanks for all the great yarns and inspiring patterns that are availble! To give us time to eat more turkey and pumpkin pie, there will be no knit Night this Mon Oct 12th.
