Sheep but no wool

Each day as we walk from village to village in the Cotswolds, we walk through at least half a dozen fields of sheep and they are definitely more frightened of us than we are of them. They scatter as we approach and my son Ben even started a minor stampede trying to pet one. We now realize that the two brown sheep we were able to feed were unusually tame and so were probably bottle fed. Despite all these sheep we have not yet found one bit of yarn or fiber! One of our hosts at our B&B told us that they use the fleece for insulating houses
