Hedgehog Fibres Tweedy DK

Tweedy is a soft DK weight yarn where the coloured bits are their own hand-dyed waste - the ties that they take off the hand dyed skeins. They diligently collect the ties and  process them into this new yarn, which means re-carding, blending and spinning into yarn again.  This resulted in a lovely tweed yarn with colourful speckles.  It comes in this neutral colourway and a black version called Tweedy Noir and now two new colours, Bliss & Lullaby. 

We applaud their attempt to minimize waste and be more environmentally friendly. On top of our thread waste they use recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. We love the result! It's soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing.
